About the Alen BreatheSmart 35i

Alen is an Austin, Texas manufacturer that has specialized in home air purification for nearly two decades. The BreatheSmart 35i is a full-size room purifier — quiet enough for a bedroom, with a built-in sensor that adjusts to the air in your home.

How the program works

No home visits, no construction, no cost. One purifier is provided per residential unit, so a two-family home is eligible for two.

  1. Watch your mail

    Every property inside the program boundary receives a letter from the Airport, addressed to the owner on record.

  2. Apply

    Return the application by mail or complete it online. Renters can apply with the owner’s written consent.

  3. We verify

    The program team confirms the address and ownership, then approves your application.

  4. Delivered to you

    Your purifier ships directly from Alen to your door, with the filter already included.

Your filter

Two layers, one filter

Every Alen filter uses true H13 HEPA media. The Advanced (Fresh) filter in your unit adds a second layer of activated carbon.

  • HEPA layer. Captures fine particles such as dust, pollen, pet dander and smoke particles.
  • Activated carbon layer. Helps reduce smoke, odors, household chemicals and VOCs that a particle filter alone does not address.
  • Replace about once a year. The purifier tells you when it is time. Ask for the Fresh filter for the BreatheSmart 35i at alen.com.
  • Lifetime warranty. Register your purifier with Alen and replace the filter with a genuine Alen filter every 12 months to keep it covered for life.

Good to know

Understanding your air quality readings

The 35i has a sensor that measures the air inside the room it is in. The light on the unit, and the optional Alen app, show what that sensor sees from moment to moment.

  • Readings move throughout the day. Cooking, candles, cleaning sprays, vacuuming, a fireplace or an open window will all raise them for a while.
  • A change in color means it is working. In auto mode the purifier speeds up when it detects more in the air and slows down once the room clears.
  • The app is optional. The purifier works fully on its own; you never need to connect it to Wi-Fi.

For best results, place the purifier in the room where you spend the most time — for most people, the bedroom — leave space around it, keep doors and windows closed, and let it run continuously in auto mode.
